The Changing Face of Pinoy Horror Movies

Candido's take on the lamang lupa creatures, although told from a balikbayan's limited perspective of Pinoy folklore, is generously tone down to graphically define the edgy "make-believe" personality of the aswang, kapre, or, more importantly, the manananggal. The computer effects used to bring these creatures to life are flawless and often equal to big-budgeted Hollywood pictures. The big difference is having talented Pinoy actors who have much to offer. Ang Pamana is a smart move for Candido and, hopefully, will help in resuscitating the ailing Philippine movie industry. A must-see!
